B.A.A. Boston Half Marathon Registration Opens Today
/The B.A.A. Half Marathon gives a tour of Jamaica Plain, a different experience than the Boston Marathon. Registration opens July 10.
The most popular half marathon in Boston, the B.A.A. (Boston Athletic Association) Half Marathon opens for registration this morning. The Boston Half will take place on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 8:00AM, starting and ending in Franklin Park. The cosponsors for the event are the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
The Course
The route for the B.A.A. Half takes athletes through a tour of Jamaica Plain, including a lap around the iconic Jamaica Pond (albeit from the street, not the path). The course stretches up the emerald necklace before taking a u-turn to come back around, eventually finishing back in Franklin Park on the field of White Stadium.
Weather
Weather for the BAA Half is usually pretty temperate, with temperatures in the mid 50s at the start of the race. Typical of New England there have been years where the wind has been wicked strong (like last year) and temperatures have ranged from the low 40s to the mid 70s. The best way to stay up to date for the weather conditions at the B.A.A. Boston Half Marathon is to subscribe for updates on the race page.
