Back Your Badge Marathon
Race Day Weather
Warm start, warming through the race
A warm 73°F start means heat management is critical — consider dialing back your goal pace by 10-20 sec/mi. Temperatures rising to 86°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 75% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
Back Your Badge Marathon is a marathon, half marathon and 5K in Plainfield, Indiana that raises money for local police, fire and 911 dispatch personnel. First run in 2023, it returns for its fourth edition on September 20, 2026. The course covers historic US 40 and the Plainfield Parks Trail System, passing local police, fire and communications facilities along the way. Runners pick an agency to represent, and each mile completed adds to that agency's running total for a season-long, trophy-earning competition. The marathon is USATF-certified and a Boston Marathon qualifier. Source
