Race Info
The Last Chance Marathon and Half Marathon is run on New Year's Eve in Bellingham, Washington, starting and finishing at the Fairhaven Park pavilion. The half marathon is a single out and back on the Interurban Trail, turning at the Clayton Beach parking lot in Larrabee State Park, and the marathon covers that course twice. Most of the route follows an old railroad bed with a packed gravel surface under tree cover, with a three-quarter-mile stretch of double-track trail through Arroyo Park and about 300 feet of elevation change in all. The course closes at 4:00 PM, and runners may take an optional 8:00 AM early start but are not eligible for awards. Source
