The Louisiana Marathon takes place in Baton Rouge on the weekend before Martin Luther King Jr. Day, with the marathon and half marathon on Sunday and a Quarter Marathon and 5K on Saturday. The marathon and half marathon start downtown and run past LSU's campus and University Lakes; the marathon continues along the river and through historic neighborhoods, and the half marathon splits off to finish downtown toward the State Capitol. The marathon course is USATF certified and a Boston Marathon qualifier, and the half marathon course is USATF certified. Course records in the marathon are 2:23:47 for men (Josh Ordway, 2016) and 2:43:57 for women (Rachel Booth, 2019). Source
