McKirdy Micro Marathon: Breaking 3
Race Day Weather
Cold start, steady conditions
Runners will face a chilly start at 29°F, rising to a maximum of 34°F by the finish. Winds will be from the NW at 11 mph, with gusts up to 17 mph. With average humidity at 51% and a low dew point, runners should dress warmly and maintain a consistent pace to combat the cold.
It’s estimated that less than 4% of marathoners who’ve ever run the daunting distance have broken 3 hours. We aim to bring that percentage just a bit higher. We invite you to join us and become one of those rare athletes!
Options are limited and proper support to run as fast as you are capable of is lacking in the vast majority of events around the country. Our event is the ONLY RACE in the country with a total “in-race” support concept in mind for all participating athletes! This will be a first time experience for MANY who participate but race directors James McKirdy, Sammy McClintock, and Heather McKirdy will walk you through every detail to ensure you have every opportunity to break 3.
Come race day, you’ll be ready! Source
