Runners will face a temperature rise from 57°F at the start to 79°F by the finish, with an average humidity of 64%. Winds will be from the SSW at 10 mph, with gusts up to 33 mph. To cope with the warming conditions, runners should start conservatively and hydrate frequently.
The St. Joseph, Missouri Marathon offers a scenic and challenging route that showcases the city's landmarks and historic parkway system. Starting and finishing behind Civic Center Park in downtown St. Joseph, the course takes participants from the north to the south end of town, passing through notable sites such as Krug Park, Hyde Park, Lovers Lane, Ashland Avenue, the Pony Express Museum, and the Museum Hill Area. The race features five different distances: full marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles), 5K (3.1 miles), and a relay team element that encompasses the full route. Event proceeds benefit the continued growth, development, and programming of the St. Joseph Sports Commission, as well as initiatives by the Junior League of St. Joseph, including Cinderella’s Closet, Hope Totes, Community Assistance and Literacy Grants, and support for the United Way of Greater St. Joseph.
