Race Info
The White River Marathon is held each November in Cotter, Arkansas, with a half marathon and 5K the same morning. All races start at Cotter Schools, drop downhill for the first mile and follow the White River to the finish at Big Spring Park, so the start and finish are in different places; the marathon runs the river out and back twice. The last two miles are on a compacted gravel path and the rest is asphalt. The course is USATF-certified, has a net loss in elevation and is a Boston qualifier; the marathon record is 2:29:34 by Ridley Holmes in 2020.
