Cool morning, rolling hills ahead
Runners will face temperatures starting at 55°F and peaking at 64°F, with humidity around 80%. A light, variable wind will not significantly impact performance, but runners should prepare for crosswinds throughout the course. Given the rolling terrain, pacing adjustments will be necessary on climbs, particularly at miles 1, 11, and 15. With a chance of light rain, a throwaway layer may be beneficial during the pre-race warm-up.

Juneau Marathon and Half-Marathon are conducted on rolling, USATF-certified courses on Douglas and North Douglas Highways on Douglas Island (across Gastineau Channel from Juneau, Alaska). The marathon course features scenic water views and a stunning vista of Mendenhall Glacier. Not too many other races in the USA can lay claim to that aspect!
